Process Engineer

Position Description

Looking for a candidate that has shown progressive advancement during their engineering career and wishes to work in a small yet growing company environment that is backed by a multi-billion dollar capital investment firm.  Opportunities for future advancement are available within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to existing operations on a daily basis.  Includes suggestions toward optimization of product yields to meet the business model.
  • Develop and lead improvement projects for Operations, safety, and productivity.
  • Interface with engineering firms, EPC companies, and other vendors on FEED studies, evaluations, and project execution.
  • Engineering calculations and problem solving as circumstances dictate. 
  • Drawing and technical specification markup and coordination.
  • Creation and distribution of key emails, budgets, and reports to senior management
  • Prepare purchase orders for design packages, materials, and equipment, as applicable.
  • Participate in PSM processes including Management of Change and Incident Investigations.

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Candidate will need to demonstrate general knowledge of distillation, reaction chemistry, dehydration, and system hydraulics.
  • General knowledge of pumps, control valve, and relief valve sizing.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient with internet, email, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-moving, team environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop engineering solutions. 

Education and Experience Required

  • 3 – 5 years experience as a Process Engineer and/or Production Engineer
  • Four-year degree in an engineering discipline, Chemical strongly preferred.
  • Operations experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in dimerization and/or alkylation processes a plus.
  • Knowledge of the PSM process a plus.
